Big Plans: 10 women urbanists shape the modern world

The exhibition Big Plans, currently on display in Casa Vertigo (TU/e ​​campus), presents the life and work of ten female urban planners. By specifically focusing on the work of these progressive women, the exhibition takes a new step in the historiography of 20th-century urban planning. These women not only planned entire regions, cities, and neighborhoods, but they were also involved in legislation, developed computer programs, and provided publications in the field of urban planning and design. What distinguishes and unites the work of these female urban planners is the belief in the emancipatory power of urban planning, for women, disadvantaged socio-economic classes, or other marginalized groups in society.
